I think these are tomtit fledglings, could some one please confirm & are South Island tomtits different to North Island?, thanks. (I'm on limited internet access at the moment so can't do much research & may not get back to this for a few days)

I believe that these are either fledglings or females.
Male South Island Tomtits have tinged-yellow chests, while male North Island Tomtits have clear white chests.
It may also be interesting to note that Snares Island Tomtits are entirely black.

As previously agreed these are baby tomtits.
South Island Tomtits are a subspecies as far as i know.
