My duck is laying and want to candle.

Hi.
So I got 2 ducks at the end of February. They are buff Orpington X Blue sweed. The hen has laid about 10 eggs in the garden from what I can see. I want to candle them, but I'm also worried that she will reject that egg if I do. My main question is can I touch them or not?
Im sure they are fertilised because I have caught them mating a few times even though it's the wrong season. If anyone can help that would be awesome.

Yeah mate, go nuts. Make sure that your light isn't hot. Candling is best done after a week of incubation. You should be able to see some decent blood vessels and maybe an embryo - don't remove more than a couple of eggs at a time. It might be easier to candle outside at night time. Discard everything that's not fertile
