BirdsBoP meeting Wednesday 8 February- speaker Bridget Palmer

Postby Raewyn » Sun Feb 05, 2017 9:16 am

Our speaker for the next Birds BoP meeting will be Bridget Palmer from the Whakatane Kiwi Trust. Yes, there are kiwi in the Bay of Plenty and Bridget will talk to us about the work being done to promote and protect the Whakatane population of these iconic birds. From the few individuals discovered in Ohope Scenic Reserve in 1999 the population has grown to over 300.

Bridget spent three years managing the Whakatane Kiwi Project and is so passionate about helping kiwi that since then she has continued to work with project and its volunteers.

Come and join us for Bridget's talk at 7pm on Wednesday 8 February 2017. Meetings are now at a new venue, Tauranga Historical Society Hall, behind the Brain Watkins House, 233 Cameron Road, Tauranga.
All are welcome. A gold coin donation to cover costs is appreciated.
