The road between Birdlings and Little River was closed by flooding earlier this morning. Might not be poss to reach Wairewa

If you can get through, the Little Egrets were at the top end, on the far side, feeding on the channel edge of the Okana River as it crosses the mudflats.

3 Little Egrets have been in Omokoroa continuously from August 2023 and are still here as at 23rd April 2024. Has anyone seen Little Egrets continuously in New Zealand for this length of time. I have many photos of these multiple sightings of the same birds at this location.

Pretty sure the ashley birds have been there exactly 1 year. First seen approx Early April last year and still there as we speak. May have been some gaps. Might need to check ebird reports to confirm. Also originally a single bird. Not sure when it became a duo. Also interesting to note breeding plumes kicking in noow which seems oodd timing for Auzzie birds which I presume them to be?

Edit: A quick scan through reports from March-April 2023 to present confirms thay have been present pretty much right through.
