That's interesting, we visited today and saw two shore plovers: white/yellow (left) and green/blue (right) -- see picture below --and the other one was white/yellow (left) and white/red (right).

I wonder what has happened to the other 30 or so birds that used to be at Plimmerton?

Cheers

I checked weekend 15/16 October at high tide and none were to be seen at Plimmerton. Hopefully all back on Mana Island. I haven't checked out Green Point for a while.

Just had a text from a German couple who have been on a couple of our pelagics. They have just seen a shore plover at Plimmerton -1745 Wed 2/11.

Just been to Plimmerton and scoured the shoreline. No sign of any shore plover unfortunately. Only consolation this morning was getting on bluebridge after Interislander cancelled our ferry!

Spent over an hour and didn't see anything. A local said she hadn't seen any for a couple of months.
Cheers, Tony.

We visited Plimmerton at about 1.15 pm yesterday when the tide was fairly low. We were about to leave when we saw a shore plover that had been hidden in the rocks. Its legs were banded as follows: Left: yellow, red; right: white, blue. I wonder who we can contact to find out what has happened to the other 30 or so shore plovers that were there previously?

Cheers

British photographer Richard Chandler had two birds there today, and even saw a bit of displaying going on between the two. So it may pay to keep a close eye on the antics of any birds there...

Two birds present today at about 11.00 right in front of the fire station. Certainly a male and a female, and very much in each other's company.
