A pure white spotted shag was seen by Monarch Tours in Otago Harbour "this week". They say they think its leucistic rather than albino because of the darker eye.

Re: Pure white spotted shag, Otago Harbour
Just wondering if anyone has seen this bird since the original observation 2 years ago?
It really should be written up in Southern Bird or Notornis.
cheers

A record of this bird was published with a colour photo in the June 2016 Birds New Zealand magazine (formerly Southern Bird) on pages 18-19.
