Erect-crested Penguin at Kaikoura

Postby sav » Sun Jan 29, 2017 6:57 pm

Hi all,

I've just received a (rather poor) photo of a crested penguin sp at Kaikoura today. I think it is probably a Snares CP, but can't be sure. I'd say it is either a Snares or an Erect-crested.

The bird was found by the Pier Hotel, by unknown people.

I might get some better photos later.

cheers

Hi all

This is a juvenile erect-crested penguin. But is it the same bird?

Cheers

I can't resist saying that it looks like Dad has glued it to the rock in the 2nd pic!

Kia ora! I'm interested in chasing this bird during the weekend. Any recommendations for where/when to find it?
