Eastern Curlew at Ruakaka

Postby ourspot » Thu Mar 30, 2017 6:15 pm

Had a great morning checking out a stunning 'Eastern Curlew' at the Ruakaka Wildlife Reserve. Only the second one I've seen. Also present were about 150 Bar-Tailed Godwits, 25 Red Knots (many in breeding plumage), 6 NZ Dotterels, approx 60 White-Fronted Terns and some Oystercatchers, Black Backed and Red-Billed Gulls, Spur-Winged Plovers and a couple of Caspian Terns. Great spot.
