Tattler at Waikuku Beach

Postby jeremytaylor » Fri Nov 17, 2017 8:01 pm

Was with a Don Parish at Waikuku Beach when we saw this tattler. Looking for identifications on NatureWatch to confirm species ID http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations/8835667

Hi Jeremy,

100% a Grey-tailed Tattler. The distinctions between Grey-tailed and Wandering are many, but mostly quite subtle. Supercillium, loral stripe, general plumage shade, shape and more. This bird fits Grey-tailed very well in all respects.

Nice one.
