Westshore Reserve must be the holiday destination of choice for Portland Island singletons this season! RWOB was present again at the scrape ponds this morning, along with another female not seen previously (band combo RWRY).

I looked without success ... are they the scrape ponds near the road close to the bridge Adam?

Hi Wandoona, yes the scrape ponds are all the shallow pools at the southern end of Westshore Reserve. The shore plovers have mostly been sighted running about feeding in the central area, although they can be tricky to spot from a distance when stationary or at rest. In that case the contrasting red bill and dark facial marking can be a useful identification aid. :)

Yep, sighted female with you and spotted a single male at Southern Marsh this morning.
