Re: Little Grebe
Do you mean the little grebes at the Whangarei Water Treament Plant? If so, I saw a couple there about 2 weeks ago - haven't been back lately to see if there are any chicks (which there were last year). Cheers Scott

They're also generally at the Waro Limestone Reserve at Hikurangi.

Can anyone confirm recent sighting of the little grebe. I have just visited waro limestone reserve and saw dabchicks but no grebe if definitely there will go again and take another look. Thanks

Re: Little Grebe
I saw one Aus Little Grebe on 16th October - was near the carpark entrance end of the lake. It was hidden in the reeds for most of my visit and only popped out at the end, so worth just waiting round and scanning. Cheers Scott.

Re: Little Grebe
I am pleased to say I found the Little Grebe at Limeburners wetlands in Whangarei 5th Dec. In the pool adjacent to AB Engineering. It was quiet and relaxed and allowed picture taking.
