Southern Right Whale Dolphins off Kaikoura

Steve Wood reports seeing c50 Southern Right Whale Dolphins off Kaikoura today on a pelagic trip.

Here's one poor pic - other highlight of the day was 1 Antarctic Fulmar, but three dolphin species on an Albatross Encounter birding trip must be pretty good!

John Kyngdon has posted this photo on Facebook showing that one of the Southern Right Whale Dolphins seen off Kaikoura had a small dorsal fin, which suggests it is a SRWD x Dusky Dolphin hybrid:
