Ricarton bush preditor free. Me thinks not.
I was just reading an article about a translocation slash rescue of lizards from a banks paninsula site near the recently re opened road , sumner/lyttleton and that around 3 hundred were taken to ricarton bush because it has a predator fence. WHAT. The place is, like many i. Chch overun by blackbirds. Blckbrds lizards. Does anyone else hmm at that idea and think. Really. Was there really alot of thought put into that. Whats really going at R. Bush. Never mind the thrush there to. Ive even seen sparows take small skinks out at travis swamp. You have to do better than that. Surely.

I think they were translocating geckos so probably not an issue. I imagine NZ lizards can cope in the face of bird predation they have managed for many years.
