Cicada calling, summer is here

Feels a bit like summer in Hamilton today, especially with the first cicada I've heard calling around here this spring. It flew before I could get close enough to id it.

Cabbage tree has flowered early with its aromma floating around, and noticed the NZ Pohutukawa springing into flower out west Auckland last weekend, and here a couple days later
All tradtional signs of an early and long summer
Kakariki aready sitting on their 3rd batch of eggs this season.
