An interesting new fossil bird from New Zealand

Postby Ian Southey » Fri May 06, 2022 3:31 pm

This link is to a paper describing two Miocene bird fossils from New Zealand. One of them is an owlet-nightjar but the other is to a remarkably obscure bird that it closest to a mousebird and placed in a new family of uncertain relationships. Pity it didn't make it through to modern times.
