The evolution of penguins

Postby Ian Southey » Fri May 06, 2022 3:35 pm

This is a fascinating and largely biogeographic and palaeoclimatic history of penguins. https://www.mdpi.com/1424-2818/14/4/255

New Zealand seems to have been key right from the beginning to the end.

This is another big picture penguin paper that is well worth a look https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-022-31508-9 It contains genomic as well as fossil information with some fascinating information on the evolution of modern penguins.
