Siberian Tattler - not Wandering - because nasal groove shorter, extending 50% of length and white eyebrow extends as thin line over base of bill.

This should be a Wandering Tattler in worn non-breeding plumage. Best separated from its relative by the short supercilium which never extends beyond the eye.

Grey-tailed (Siberian) Tattler. Generally pale colouration, nasal groove only extends to half length of beak, suggestion of tiled scutulations on legs due to reflected sunlight (closely related Wandering Tattler has a longer nasal groove, usually darker overall colouration and meshwork-like scales on the legs).

Wandering Tattler - based on white eyebrow not extending past eye, and nasal groove on bill going 70% of length. I haven't seen this bird, only the Grey-tailed Tattler at Ahuriri estuary.

Wandering Tattler, but a pale-looking one. I could be completely wrong here and am being swayed by the bill groove length but undermined by the paleness of the bird (which could be an illusion) and the extent of the supercilium, though that is pinched. Hard to tell wing length but looks quite long. Substrate suggests this is not a shot from Rarotonga so no help there.

A good choice for starters.

Siberian (Grey-tailed) Tattler.
