Guadalcanal Moustached Kingfisher update

Brenden Mautoa reports from Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands (28/7/20): "So our boys has been out last week, scouting for the Guadalcanal Moustached Kingfisher up the Guadalcanal highlands. They took with them, the sound records and the bird image for identification with locals, around the area. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find the endemic rare bird. Reports came back; the other groups who went for pig hunting heard this rare species. I for my-self would like to see it, record it and photograph it before i clear my doubts. Bonus finding, they managed to spot the Guadalcanal Dwarf Kingfisher and photograph it, which i was impressed! One of the 10 endemic spices to Guadalcanal. Well done boys. Our next trip will be in two weeks’ time and all the boys are looking forward to it. You guys may ask where the location is. This is at Mataga highlands, east Guadalcanal."
