Volunteer Programs for Young Birders?

Hi all,
I’m a young birder interested in joining a volunteer program to help wildlife.
It would have to be a conservation/volunteer program somewhere in Canterbury. If anyone knows any conservation programs, volunteer jobs and birding societies I could join please let me know!
