Postby Wrybill » Sat Jan 28, 2023 5:45 pm

I am Trying to revive this subforum. :| Hopefully this goes well!! :)
I will post bird photographs and trip Information.
Other Birders are welcome to add their own information and Photos too.

To start It off This is my trip Report from today at the Waitohu Stream Mouth.
We started at 1:50 and walked down the track from Moana street saw Goldfinch, Sparrow, Blackbird Etc. On Passing the Spinifex Dune we Saw Black-Fronted Dotterel, Pheasant {calling} and Welcome swallow then we turned and followed the stream towards the beach. However we could not cross it was raining and the tide was rising. We added Gannet and Black backed Gull also Red bills two only and that was about it we Checked the Beach for dead seabirds but with No avail- and Started to head back One WFT and a Tui Flying Over. On Return I decided we should do a Checklist for the Wetlands a Pair of Fantails, Greenfinch, Swallows, Waxeye and some Goldfinch. There we ended our Count. When we had ended The Total was 14 species for the stream mouth and 8 for the wetlands area.
