I decided to make this to post things like recent bird photos or field sketches that don't have anywhere else to go so could go on a new thread... maybe. Or just for random chat stuff. We'll see how it goes.
Please stay on the topic of birds and wildlife mainly.
(If your new you could even potenually introduce yourself here?)

Re: General random chat stuff
Here is my first post.
Look! Coots! I was accually suprized to see them as we don't seem to get them that much at the "top of the south". Saw them while looking for the New Zealand Dabchicks at Taylor Dam in Blemheim. Sadly did not get those.

I love coots, but you can get soo close to them in Auckland parks, I'm sure some of the ones at Western Springs would eat outta the palm of your hand. Very defensive parents too, they have funny feet and such an explosive call!

Frogs! I found a wild green bell frog (or golden???) at Wellington zoo. (Yup it was wild )
We get lots of whistling frogs here in the even/night, I'd love to see one though. There was a dead one, and I've seen lots of tadpoles but never a live adult.
Yeah, sooo would like to see coots. Although it was really awesome to go to a spot and suddenly see them, never even thinking that they could be there lol
