Kia ora,

Just posting about a sighting of a partially leucistic sparrow at the Auckland Airport Shopping Centre outside Countdown. Seen on Tuesday 24 April with a handful of other sparrows. No decent picture available. It's possible it was a finch sp. I'd be interested to hear if there have been any other sightings of this bird.

I came across a leucistic Pied Stilt near Nugget Point on 25th April, and a similarly plumaged Variable Oystercatcher at Taieri Mouth on 20th April (both locations S Otago).

I've been watching this sparrow on Clarke St Tauranga, near the hospital carpark. I first saw it late last year and only got a sighting once a month or so, but have seen it about three times in the last week. Mainly at lunchtime.

Location is 40°22'38.10"S 175°37'3.60"E, on Batchelar Rd, right near Massey University. He's pretty regular under the oak trees, near 'The Mews' accommodation
