Bird Id help

Hey everyone I was doing the Abel Tasman last week and I saw a bird that I am 99% sure was a long tailed cuckoo but just a need a little help confirming it. It was flying over head it looked like a falcon but the tail was the same length if not longer than the body. It had a white and a light brown belly. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Your description sounds like a long-tailed cuckoo to me, Micah. Comparing and contrasting with a falcon helps. Nice find.
