The other day while waiting in the carpark at Hornby Mitre10 for John to return with tapwashers; I watched a flock of SBBGulls flying around calling above the roof of the nearby Hardly Normal, Nearly Leaning, Pet supplication building. There was someone on the roof possibly maintaining air conditioning structures/outlets.
The birds would fly powerfully into an updraft and get tossed vertically quite a way up, then fly away a bit and return to do it over and over again. I have seen them going up to chase flying ants before, but this just seemed to be pure fun. Lovely to watch.
