Unknown bird at Centennial Park in Timaru
I just heard an unusual bird at Centennial Park, calling "oh-weeo-oh-weeo", followed by a response with the same sound. My first is California Quail. Any other ideas?

If I'm hearing the same tone... California quail makes a quite distinct call in the similar tone

The call didn't sound as 'rubbery', however, and despite calling in an open area, I couldn't see the birds.
