Unknown Wild Bird Populations

Postby Cardinal15 » Sun Jul 03, 2022 8:44 pm

I have three species of birds that are unknown whether they are truly wild populations. These are the Emu on the East Coast, The Muscovy Duck In Whakatane, and the Cape Barren Geese in Omata (whether this is feral, vagrant, or pet). I was wondering what the general agreement is on these species. I have put the Muscovy duck in this because I find it interesting that Greylag Geese, which sometimes rely on feeding by people, is an introduced species in New Zealand. I am most interested in the Cape Barren Geese and Emu. Just some food for thought.
