I would like to visit Blumine Island in October for the Malherbe's Parakeet, however only Eko-tours appear to provide a short two-hour drop-off on the island. At $800 for four persons, that's a very expensive trip.
I have approached Cougar Line, Lochmara Lodge, Beachcomber Cruises and Picton Water Taxis but none can offer access to the island or a drop-off / pick-up service.
Are there any other options available, other than taking a kayak?
Thanks & regards, Bruce

Re: Blumine Island
We did E-Ko tours in November and camped on the Island, they were happy to drop us off and pick us up the following day provided there were enough people that the trips go ahead. Four should be fine so I would give them a call. They often do a morning and an afternoon pass of the island as well to my knowledge.
