Anyine know Bill Marks?

Postby sandyw » Sat Jul 14, 2018 7:16 pm

Pied shags have a pattern of darkish lines and marks on their bills. I wonder if individual birds could be distinguished from these patterns, rather like the way individual whales can be identified from distinctive markings. Any ideas if anyone has studied this?
