What's rhe term for 2 female birds sharing a nest?

Postby andrewcrossland » Fri Aug 24, 2018 10:45 am

Just a memory block - can anybody advise me the terns for 2 females sharing the same nest if they share the same mate? And the term if they share the same nest but have different mates? Thus relates to a banded dotterel nest with 5 eggs and 2 females apparently taking turns at sitting (as reported to me - I haven't seen it myself yet bit I've never heard of this before in banded dotts.

Well yeah, I know it's polygamy, but what's the actual term for nest sharing? Contemporaneous co-habitation?
