Battle of the birds

Postby Mxyzptlk » Tue May 10, 2016 7:38 am

Just before sun-up at the end of April a knock-down-drag-out took place between a couple of the resident Starlings in our orchard. Went on for over twenty minutes while interested avian spectators looked-on and a unfazed Blackbird fossicked for worms around and about the pair. Then the squabble stopped as suddenly as it started and the two stood back, ignored one another, blinked and flew away.
Pics taken through double glaze with damn all light.

I have seen something similar to this on the Auckland Domain where I witnessed 2 Blackbirds in a scurry with one another.
