Muscovy Ducks breeding

Was photographing a property near the Liffy Stream in Lincoln yesterday and came across this little family in the reserve.

Take it it's not unusual for them to breed outside a fence in NZ but 'NZ Birds Online' saying their numbers are bolstered by releases etc but thought I'd post for comment anyway. Something I haven't seen before.
