Bird Feather ID

Postby TheBirderman » Tue Jun 04, 2019 7:39 pm

Hi All

I was tramping in the Hunua Ranges near Auckland when I found this feather on the ground. Can anyone help with the ID?

Hi Colin, thanks for your reply.

Yes, a kaka does come to mind when looking at the feather. It must be a visiting Kaka, maybe from the North such as Tawharanui or the Hauraki Gulf Islands.

Cheers
