Jan, it's only clogging up one thread that is optional to read, not the whole site...

Yes, yes I know, we're not supposed to be posting these any more, but its lockdown and we all need amusement, so I'll share this proposed logo for a local wetland trust in CHCH that I help in a professional capacity. They know how the "wrong kingfisher" thing gets under my skin so sent this through to me for approval!!
buggers!
Yes, it subsequently went through some modifications!

I’m looking forward to some of the lifers expected at a sanctuary proposed for the Chch Avon red zone. Ever since the Ashley River Grey Herons identified (wrongly) by Dr Robert Cushman Murphy back in the 1940s were removed from the NZ list we’ve been hoping for a real one to turn up. Looks like it might be soon?!

Hey AC,
With that purple neck, and cheeks, I think it's a Great Blue Heron, rather than a Grey ?
cheers

No incorrect species per se, but this page from an old booklet about Pāuatahanui has some mistakes that I thought were funny.

I've been looking at property to buy in the Marlborough Sounds and wonder if these signs are "a sign"?!
