Road Trip Birding Spots

Hi all, going to be driving to New Plymouth from Wellington soon.

What are the good spots to stop on the way for some birding?

I would suggest checking the eBird hotspot map along your route. Consider downloading the app as well which has an inbuilt hotspot and bird report map for nearby birds.
