I was there a couple of days ago and it seems the mostly likely the bird is the south African shelduck but everybody is waiting for it to finish its moult. Lots of talk about what it was !

In case anyone here was interested in this subject but didn't already know the following; an experienced aviculturist in the Australian Twitchers FB group found out that this duck was an escaped Chestnut-breasted × Paradise Shelduck hybrid that resulted from an accidental captive breeding. In addition, this was made possible because the Paradise Shelduck has become more common in Australian aviculture in recent years.
