Black Stilt reportable?

Postby Lost West Aussie » Wed Jan 22, 2020 1:07 pm

Hi all,

Managed to grab a few shots of some black stilts while "tramping" around Lake Tekapo region.
Just wondering what would be the best way of reporting if necessary?

I would normally just use Atlas over home in Perth but I did create an eBird account for this trip.

Many thanks,

Lost West Aussie.

P.S Mods thanks for the add & please re/move if necessary.

Not sure exactly what you mean by "reportable", but if you took notes of all the other birds you saw on that particular walk then it could be worth submitting an eBird checklist through the NZ Bird Atlas portal. You can choose to do this in the mobile app settings menu. Otherwise, maybe iNaturalist? I don't know much about that one though.

I’m sure the Twizel doC office would be happy to get locations and band combinations also if you got any: always good to get more data on location of banded birds.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Will use eBird & shoot a quick email to the Twizel office.
