Gisborne pelagic - July 2022

Postby sav » Sun May 08, 2022 12:27 pm

Hi all,

I'm going to arrange a Winter-time Gisborne pelagic, since Russ Cannings is busy (he'll find out what causes those babies someday?!).

Looking at 2 consecutive days - Sat 16th and Sun 17th July. This will be a cost-sharing trip, expecting about $180/person/day, for 10.

The last time we were able to do it there were some excellent birds - most notably lots of GREY PETREL, but also an exulans Wandering Albert. Russ wrote the trip report viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10444&p=45136&hilit=gisborne+pelagic#p45136

Please let me know here, or by email to savATwrybill-tours.com if you are interested, in either, or both, days.

cheers

Hi all,

An update on the Gisborne pelagics in July.

It looks as if I have enough people to make both days viable, which would mean only 2 or 3 places remain available for each. If you are interested, please register that interest soon!

cheers

Hi all,

How times change....When we tried to arrange East coast pelagics a decade ago we could rarely attract enough attention to make a viable trip, but now I have 2 days out of Gisborne full to overflowing!

I can waitlist anyone else that is interested for 16 and 17 July, but will also try for another date in addition to these 2. So - if you want to come in late August, please let me know.

cheers
