Special Tutukaka Pelagic Seabird Trips - Wed 9 Jan 2019, and Sat 2 Feb 2019

Hi all
The first two Tutukaka Pelagic Seabird Trips for 2019 are going to include something extra special. We plan to finish the trip parked up close to the Poor Knights Islands to witness the arrival of thousands of Buller’s Shearwaters as they return to their burrows at dusk. This is the first time we have run this dusk trip which I haven’t experienced it yet, but the skipper has and he said it’s a fantastic sight and really noisy.
We’ll depart from Tutukaka later than usual (at about midday or 1pm - to be confirmed) and head straight out to the deep chum spot for a few hours. Then we’ll head back into the Poor Knights Islands an hour or so before sunset to have a look for the grey noddy’s and other seabirds around the islands. After that we’ll park up at the end of the Poor Knights Islands, chuck some nice sausages on the BBQ, have some drinks and wait for the Buller’s Shearwaters to do their thing. We will return back to the Tutukaka marina in the dark approx 10.00 - 10.30pm.
Should be a great experience!
The trips are scheduled for:
– Wednesday 9th January 2019 (7 spaces left)
– Saturday 2nd February 2019 (7 spaces left)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
COSTS:
The trip is slightly dearer than usual as it includes some nice sausages and drinks - no tie necessary :)
Final trip costs (based on how many are on board) are:
• 10 people $155 each
• 9 people $175 each
• 8 people $190 each
• 7 people $215 each
• 6 people $245 each
A non-refundable deposit of $155 is required upon booking to secure your place on the trip and then any additional balance will be sorted closer to the trip date when numbers are confirmed. If the trip is cancelled due to adverse conditions then all money paid will be refunded.

Let me know if you’re keen or if have any questions about the trip.
Cheers
