Tutukaka Pelagic Seabird Trip - NOW on Monday 5th November 2018

Postby ourspot » Tue Aug 21, 2018 5:40 pm

Hi all

The next two Tutukaka Pelagic Seabird Trips are scheduled for:
– Sunday 7th October (currently 4 spaces available)
– Sunday 4th November (currently 3 spaces available).

We depart Tutukaka at approximately 7.00am, go out via the spectacular Poor Knight Islands, then head out to about 40km offshore, and return to the Tutukaka marina late afternoon. The trip is a great opportunity to spend the day on the water and enjoy a variety of pelagic seabirds including shearwaters, petrels, albatrosses, mollymawks and storm-petrels. Naturally there’s no guarantee on what birds will be present (as it depends on the season and breeding cycles, etc) but that’s part of the excitement of it.

You’ll need to provide your own food/drink/supplies for the trip. IMyself and the skipper will be checking the weather/swell conditions and will make a call 2 to 3 days out from the trip as to whether to go ahead or not.

COSTS:
A non-refundable deposit of $140 is required upon booking to confirm your place on the trip and then any balance will be sorted closer to the trip date when numbers are confirmed. If the trip is cancelled due to adverse conditions then all money paid will be refunded.

Final trip costs (based on how many are on board) are:
• 10 people $140 each
• 9 people $155 each
• 8 people $175 each
• 7 people $200 each
• 6 people $230 each

CONTACT:
Let me know if you’re keen or if have any questions about the trip.

Cheers

I'm going to move this to the Events section. I don't want to reduce the visibility of trips like this. Hopefully the opposite as they won't get so lost among other posts, but if the events section isn't working for people let's have that discussion.
Cheers

Unfortunately the forecast for this Sunday pelagic is a bit too rough ... but ... we are ALL GO FOR A MONDAY (5th November) PELAGIC! Currently Monday conditions look great with some good wind for the birds and the swell dropping down :)

Due to the date change 3 people have had to drop out as they couldn't make the Monday so 3 spaces have become available ... so if you're keen, or just feel like pulling a Monday sickie, then let me know and come on out for a great day :)

Cheers Scott
