L Ellesmere winter wader census Sun 16 June

Hi folks, just an invite to folks interested in participating in the winter wader survey on Lake Ellesmere on Sunday 16 June. Birds NZ will cover the Selwyn District side of the lake while CHCH City Council rangers will cover the Christchurch side. The survey covers waders as well as egrets/white herons/spoonbills, grebes, terns and anything unusual. We found 2 separate Northern Shovelers and a pair of Hoary-headed Grebes last year, so although winter there's always a chance of something interesting.
