Kawhia/Aotea Harbour Census--Helpers Needed!

Postby RussCannings » Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:01 am

Hi all,

The annual winter wader census of Kawhia and Aotea Harbours (south of Raglan) is happening next weekend on Sunday--July 7th. Extra observers are desperately needed in order to properly survey these large and interesting estuaries. This is one of the best locations on the North Island to find adult Black Stilts in winter and there is always a chance for other surprises. There will be three boat teams covered difficult-to-access parts of the harbours so this is a great chance to see some new spots!

If anyone is interested--please email: brucepostill@gmail.com as soon as possible. All levels of experience welcome.
