Aug 24/25 Kawhia Pelagic - CANCELLED
Posted: Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:43 pm
Hi all,
Had to cancel this month's Kawhia venture due to lack of numbers so hoping this late August weekend might work better for some folks. We can take over a dozen but 7 people should be enough to make it go. Price will be $150 each or cheaper depending on final numbers.
This would be a full day pelagic out of the west coast port of Kawhia (Near Hamilton), aiming to push as far off Gannet Island as we have reasonable time for. We have been out of Kawhia twice now with the first trip in April netting Soft-plumaged Petrel, Wilson's Storm Petrel, and Brown Booby, and an August trip last year where we had Thin-billed Prion coming withing a meter of the boat. Here's a link to the charter website for specs on the boat:

The skipper Rob reports seeing Southern Fulmar off Gannet Island earlier this winter--wouldn't that be nice?
We would probably pick the best weather day between Aug 24 (Sat) and 25 (Sun) but participant availability is also a consideration for picking the date.
Let me know asap if you would like to come along or have questions: russellcannings79@gmail.com
