If the registration confirmation email doesn't arrive (usually within a few minutes) and you are using an Xtra email address please do the following, taken from
Telecom's help pages. Doing this will not only fix your problem, but will help train Xtra's spam filters so other members are spared the hassle. At this time, xtra seems to be particularly overzealous with spam filtering:
Please note you will need to follow these instructions using webmail. You cannot fix spam issues using the below instructions if you are exclusively using a POP3 client such as Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook.
First you need to check which webmail view you are using. To tell the difference between the two views, have a look at the Yahoo!Xtra logo in the top left hand corner. If the word 'Beta' appears next to the logo you are using the Enhanced view. If there is no 'Beta' then it is classic view. Please follow the correct instructions listed for each view.
Pro Mail Enhanced View- Login to Yahoo!Xtra Pro Mail by going to http://www.xtramail.co.nz and selecting the 'Yahoo!Xtra Pro Mail' link, then entering your full email address and password.
- Click on the 'Spam' folder on the left hand side.
- If you find legitimate email in the Spam folder, highlight the email by clicking the check box on the left hand side of the message. Then click the 'Not Spam' button on the toolbar.
- The email will move to the Inbox.
- Now you should add this email to the contact list. You can do this by right clicking on the email and then click 'Add sender to Contacts'.
- An 'Add contact box' will appear. Just click on the 'Save' button.
- The new contact will be added to the contacts list.
No further email from that sender should appear in the Spam folder.
Classic View- Login to Yahoo!Xtra Pro Mail by going to http://www.xtramail.co.nz and selecting the 'Yahoo!Xtra Pro Mail' link, then entering your full email address and password.
- Click on the 'Bulk' folder on the left hand side.
- If you find legitimate email in the Spam folder, highlight the email by clicking the check box on the left hand side of the message. Then click the drop down arrow icon on the 'Move...' button and select 'Inbox'.
- The email will move to the Inbox.
- You should now open the email by clicking on the subject of the email. Now add this sender to the contact list by clicking on 'Add to Address Book' next to the From: field
- You will be prompted to add the contact to the address book. Simply click on 'Add to Address Book' at the top.
- The new contact will be added to the contacts list.
No further email from that sender should appear in the Spam folder.
