It's more related to how you set up your user account, and any information it provided was long ago.

Top of the board should be the thread with the latest post in my opinion.

Same goes for the Netiquette thread, although I'm not sure where else it could go.

Maybe just unstick it, and bump it if an occasion warrants a reminder.

Yea, I'll unstick it soon. With less than 0.04% of members expressing their opinion in the poll, I'm a little disappointed. This is actually much more than setting up individual's accounts. This issue is key to the upgrade pathway for the site. Unfortunately, either way some users are likely to be unhappy, so I want to minimize that while maximizing the happiness.
If anyone hasn't yet voted, please do it!

This may not be quite what you are asking, but I do know there are a lot of people who get the Alerts on their Birding-NZ yahoo group link, even though they aren't registered for the .net forum. They find it most useful to get an idea of what is being seen where.

I'm not sure of all the options but for me this site is by far the best way.
I have no intention of joining Twitter etc and don't like having 'phone on all the time.

Email alerts are essential to me as I'm not on Twitter or Facebook and have desire to be. I'm peddling like mad to catch up with this new techno stuff but am not up there yet. Cheers Derbylad
