Smart Feeds

Subscribing to feeds is a powerful way to get updates from websites. Your email program probably supports feeds, so it's like getting the web page emailed straight to you! Like email, but better.
You can also use web browsers or dedicated feed readers if you like (great on mobile devices). You have been able to subscribe to feeds on BirdingNZ.net for a long time, and you still can, but and now we also have Smart Feeds. The beauty of this is that you can very easily customize what you want to be sent.
To get started, just click on the feed icon on the menu bar.
The options from these should be fairly self-explanatory. Chose which fora you want. Then whether you want all posts, just the first of a topic, or just the ones you have bookmarked. You can even get your private messages (logging in registered members). Choose a format (some feed readers might not accept all formats, some are not fussy).
When you have set everything how you like just click on the Generate button and you'll get a link to copy into your feed reader, email client etc.
