You may have noticed a red newsflash announcement of the dowitcher Steve Wood found today. Testing the water to see if it is an additional useful way to let alert people to the most noteworthy sightings, or if it is just a distracting nuisance. Once you've seen it you can close it so you don't have to see it again. I can't guarantee I'll always get them up quickly, so I don't see it replacing any of the other alerts. It's just an extra.
