Two Falcons: Maungaraki, Lower Hutt

An amazing display of a bulldog fight this afternoon between a Harrier and Falcon, this afternoon around 3:40pm. Very angry falcon calls, lots of close contact with one having the harrier flipping itself upside down mid flight to meet and attack with its talons, incredible.

There is a nesting pair of Falcon in the vicinity.
They have three eggs this year and raised three chicks last year.
They are just a little bit behind last year.

Interesting thanks for sharing, we’ve seen falcon regularly up here over the years - great that they have been successful on nesting over the years. We imagine they are somewhere over the back of the regional park, as they always seem to come from that location.
