Saw it today right on high tide(11:00a.m) roosting on the small wharf at wattle farm with the red billed and black billed gulls that were constantly harassing it. Dipped on Kōtuku

5th time lucky I finally saw the wwbt this morning at high tide. Some guys had a remote controlled petrol powered speed boat which I assumed would scare the bird off, but when they started it up the bird actually flew closer and appeared to briefly chase the boat around?
And as a bonus the kotuku was also at the pond across the road

Wasn't there when I first arrived at high tide just after 3pm, but must have flown in shortly after and was with one of the gull flocks on the southern bank at 3.30 today

Seen today at 3:40pm. Arrived and parked at far end and seen straight away at entrance in front of playground with gulls. Flew off as I was walking down. I stayed around for a while but it didn't return.
Will try again tomorrow, hopefully get photos.
