Pheasant ID help

Postby Finn Davey » Fri May 01, 2020 6:20 pm

This observation has popped up on iNaturalist.
Doesn't look like a Ring-necked or even a Golden Pheasant which sometimes escapes.
I'm completely lost to how I could ID this bird.

Yeah, I thought it was some weird hybrid too. I just didn't what could be in it.
The blue wings could come from a Amhert's?

could be either?they both have the same wings. The chest has throwen brown instead of red of the golden or white in an amherst`s.Anybodies guess, brasses me off that people put crosses like this out there.if an unsuspecting buyer was to get a hen of mixed parentage they may never be able to tell visually. The first thing they do is breed from it and sell the youngsters to some other unsuspecting person.
