NZ shore plover at Waikanae River estuary
A NZ shore plover has been resident at the Waikanae River estuary for about 5 days. Usually located on the southern sand-spit in the company of banded dotterels.

Still present today, same place at southern end of the estuary. Associating with two Banded Dotterel's but very active and does not seem settled. Which may be a good thing considering the number of dogs and humans also walking on the beach.
